The 2014 Major League Baseball playoffs are in full swing. Baseball, and sports in general, are a great for data visualizations and infographics since there is such an abundance of data easily available. Back in May I posted about a baseball visualization experiment to visualize the “line” on the starting pitchers for the 2014 Oakland A’s. With Oakland’s season ending last week I completed that experiment and also decided to incorporate some interactive visualizations along with the starting pitcher statistics to make a more comprehensive visualization of the season that includes an interactive chart of the A’s wins above .500 over the course of the season, an interactive graph of the AL West division standings, an interactive spark line graph of wins and losses, and an interactive line graph of the player’s batting average for each month of the season.
